Medical Clinic

What happens if I’m late to my appointment?

Patients who are late to their appointment may lose their spot to the next patient on the list and have to wait their turn. Patients who are significantly late may be counted as a no-show. This means that you will either have to wait your turn on a first-come first-serve basis like the other walk-in patients, or have to reschedule your appointment for another day.

Can I get tested for Covid-19 at your clinic?

Yes! We offer Covid-19 testing for patients who are traveling, or require it for other reasons. Currently, we only offer PCR testing.

What happens if I don’t show up to my appointment?

Patients who fail to show up to their appointment will have to reschedule their appointment if necessary.

Travel Vaccines

Why are travel vaccines important?

Traveling comes with its fair share of health concerns, especially nowadays. Some countries carry diseases that are rare in Canada and could put vulnerable individuals at risk. Even if you have a full immunization status, there are vaccinations that you may not have had as a child, which are mandatory prior to entry into the country.

How close to my trip should I book my travel consultation?

We recommend coming in 4-6 weeks before travel. Why? Because some immunizations require at least 2 weeks to produce an immune response, while others require booster shots spaced some time apart.

Can I exercise after my vaccine?

We recommend that you stay home and rest the day of your vaccine, avoiding any strenuous exercise. If you feel energetic and well the following day, you may resume with light physical activity.

Does my child need to get vaccinated before traveling?

Your child may need to get vaccinated as well. For example, if you’re planning on traveling to tropical or subtropical areas of South America, you and your child will need a yellow fever vaccine.

Can I still get vaccinated if I’m sick?

You can still get safely vaccinated if you have a common cold with a runny nose or sore throat. Please stay home, however, if you have a fever over 39°C or have been in contact with individuals who tested positive for Covid-19.
